My name is Andy. I am a guitar tech based in Crystal Palace in South East London.

I have been playing and setting up guitars for over 30 years. I specialise in Fender® Telecasters, but I love all kinds of guitar, both acoustic and electric.

I work with every kind of player from all styles of music, but especially beginners and enthusiasts. I know that the guitar world can sometimes be intimidating and I like to keep things simple and easy to understand.

Every instrument, no matter how little or much it costs, will benefit from a good set-up to get it playing and sounding its best.

Bring in your guitar for a completely free appraisal. I can check it over and give you an idea of what kind of work is necessary, what optional upgrades it might benefit from, and a quote for the project.

Every guitar is important to its owner and I will work with you to make sure your instrument plays to its full potential.

Price Guide

These are the basic starting prices for setups & upgrades.

Every project is different and I set up every guitar to suit its owners style, so these prices are for guidance only.

You are welcome to bring your instrument in for a free appraisal, so we can discuss what your requirements are. Please contact me to set up a time.

If you have any questions about your guitar, or if you have a project that is not included here, or you would like a quote for a special job, please get in touch for more information.

*Please note: These prices does not include strings. You are welcome to bring your own, or I can supply several brands of strings, including Martin, d'Addario, Ernie Ball, Fender and Stringjoy.

Not everyone will know what all these options are, so as a very brief guide, here are some of the things we can look at:

• String Action: The height of the strings above the fretboard. Each player has their own preference and we will adjust the action so that it's comfortable for you.
• Neck Relief: Adjustment to the curve of the neck, essential for avoiding buzzing frets.
• Pickup Height: Adjusting the height of the strings above the pickup, so that all strings sound balanced in terms of volume and attack.
• Intonation: Adjusting the length of each string, so that the guitar plays in tune with itself all along the neck.

For upgrading electric guitars, we can also look at the pickups, scratchplate, bridge, nut, Bigsby vibrato and anything else you'd like to consider.

Please bear in mind that I am a guitar tech. For more extensive work, such as refretting, crowning & levelling, damage such as broken necks or headstocks or repairs to the body or the finish, I can refer you to several excellent luthiers and guitar workshops around London.
